Lead generation for fintech, payments and FX providers

How to open doors to the finance directors and founders who have just got budget, at the moment they have it.

Who you are selling to

Finance directors, heads of treasury, founders and operations leaders at UK businesses that move money: e-commerce merchants, marketplaces, importers and exporters, SaaS companies, recruiters paying contractors abroad, and scaling startups. They switch or add a payments, FX or fintech provider when volume, geography or cost pressure changes, which is visible from the outside if you know where to look.

The buying signals that matter in this market

Rept watches ten signals across every account in a client's ideal customer profile. For this vertical, these are the ones that most reliably precede a purchase, in rough order of strength:

Messaging that gets replies

Reference the event and its consequence: the expansion and the currencies it brings, the round and the hiring it funds, the new platform and the rails it needs. Name the client and the specific thing it does better (settlement speed, rate transparency, embedded checkout, reconciliation) in one sentence, and ask for twenty minutes. Fintech buyers are marketed to constantly; specificity about their situation is what separates a reply from a delete.

Compliance notes for this market

Classify every target by legal form: sole traders and ordinary partnerships are individual subscribers under PECR and need consent, while limited companies and LLPs can be emailed with an opt-out. Keep product terms, rates and application prompts out of cold email so nothing becomes a financial promotion that needs FCA-authorised approval. The full rules are in Rept's compliance guide.

What results look like

Rept's fintech and payments clients have included payment gateways, FX and cross-border providers and crypto-infrastructure businesses. Rept's best-performing campaign to date was for a payment gateway provider, triggered off new merchant-acquisition ad spend, at a 60% positive reply rate. Across financial services campaigns the average is 29.4%.

How Rept runs it

Common questions

How do FX brokers find new corporate clients?

By watching for international expansion, new currencies, importer and exporter growth, funding rounds and finance hires, then reaching the finance director with an email about that specific change. Rept runs this as a managed, signal-triggered service.

How do B2B payments companies generate leads?

Merchant growth signals: scaling ad spend, new e-commerce platforms, new markets, funding and hiring. Outreach that references the merchant's own growth converts far better than feature-led pitches.

Can a fintech startup run outbound without an SDR team?

Yes. A managed service supplies the list, signal monitoring, copy, sending infrastructure and reply handling. Rept launches in 14 days with a dedicated team managing research, outreach and replies.

Are there compliance issues emailing about payments or FX?

PECR and UK GDPR apply as for any B2B email. If your service is regulated (for example payment services or e-money) keep specific product terms and rates out of cold email so the message stays an introduction rather than a financial promotion.
